My Therapeutic Approach

To enhance my client’s’ healing and growth, I draw from a multiplicity of theories that bear a practical respect for our human condition, including the outer and inner forces that impact our individual and relational health. Developmental psychology, Neuroscience, Family of Origin and Attachment Theories make sense. So does the study of temperament and our body’s state as a conduit for well-being.

A collection of theorists have instructed me and inspired my fascination in the field of psychotherapy. They include but are not limited to: Carl Jung, Milton Erickson, Murray Bowen, and Harville Hendrix. No less important sources are known as Wisdom Literature, Judeo-Christian Scripture, the traditions of Eastern practices of yoga, meditation, and the ever-evolving work in mindfulness and addiction recovery research. I have gained much inspiration in my personal and professional work from the research and development of psychology and relationships from:

  • Drs. Harville & Helen Hendrix
  • Dr. Clarissa Pinkola-Estes
  • Drs. John & Julie Gottman
  • Dr. Patrick Carnes
  • Dr. Daniel Amen
  • Dr. Daniel Segal
  • Dr. Francine Shapiro
  • Fr. Richard Rohr

I believe my clients can count on these leaders’ influence on me and will benefit from their contribution to psychology, spirituality and relationships. The field of psychology continues to evolve and I am committed to constantly learn in order to serve my clients and stay inspired.
